Bloomington – Hubert Lyle Mason, 96, of Bloomington died at 4:30 PM on Wednesday October 19, 2016 at his residence. There will be a graveside service for Lyle on Monday October 24, 2016 at Noon at Mt Hope Township Cemetery in McLean. Pastor Jason Collins will officiate. There will also be a visitation Monday at Beck Memorial Home in Bloomington from 10 – 11 AM. Lyle was born May 26, 1920 in McLean to Carl and Sarah Barlow Mason. They preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Mason and Melvin Mason. He is survived by two children, Susan (Jim) Rainey of Georgetown, TX and Jeff (Lisa) Mason of Plano, TX, and one brother Don Mason of Bloomington. Lyle was a WW II veteran serving in the Army Air Corp in North Africa and Burma. He later worked many years for Funks Seed Company in Bloomington. He was also a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.
